Laces do not loosen mid-round the way a velcro strap can once it takes on sweat, which is why they stay standard for sparring and for coaches holding pads. Tied properly, the glove keeps the hand in the same position from the first bell to the last.

The shell is genuine leather, which is why a lace-up is worth breaking in. Over the first few sessions it takes the shape of your hand and keeps it, where a coated synthetic stays the shape it was moulded in and then cracks at the flex points.

Sizes run 10 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz and 16 oz.
