Ice Bath in Phuket — Cold Plunge in Chalong

MMAGuy in Chalong is three things in one place: a fighter-owned fight gear shop, a cafe, and an ice bath. The bath is the one people do not expect — ฿150 a session, coaching included, walk in, no booking. What it costs

• Single session — ฿150. Coaching is part of the ฿150, not an upsell. The bath is ready during opening hours.
• Monthly pass — ฿500. Unlimited for 30 days. If you are plunging more than three times a month, the pass already costs less than paying each visit.

How long to stay in

What we recommend: 1–2 minutes first thing after you wake up, or 3–6 minutes in the afternoon. That is a starting point, not a rule. Elias talks you through it — how long to stay in, how to breathe, and what to do with it afterwards. First time is fine. Nobody gets thrown in the deep end; you will be walked through your first plunge start to finish.

Why fighters use it

Best after training. Chalong's gyms finish in the morning and the late afternoon, and the bath is a two-minute ride away — close enough that you can come straight off the mats instead of promising yourself you will do it tomorrow. The other half of it is the heat: Phuket does not cool down much, and a few minutes in the cold is the fastest way to stop feeling cooked.

You do not need to be a fighter, and you do not need to be good at it. Everyone who can walk should train, and the same goes for this — the more often you do it, the easier it gets.

Coffee after

The cafe is right there, and it is the best part. Get in the bath, get out, sit down with a coffee. That is the whole ritual, and it is why the bath is at a cafe and not in a gym car park. The full menu is specialty coffee, smoothies and food you can actually train on.
